Net Star Dial-up Set up Instructions

·        Double click on ‘My Computer’ on your desktop. 

·        Then Double click on ‘Dial-up Networking’. 

·        Double click on ‘Make New Connection’. 

·        Type in ‘Netstar or NOL’ for the name of the computer you are trying to dial.  New customer will use Netstar and existing NOL customers will continue to use NOL.

·        Click Next. 

·        DO NOT put anything in area code. 

·        In Telephone Number, type in  local number from our list and make sure that the country code is set to “America (1)”.

·        Click Next.

·        Click on Finish

·        Now RIGHT CLICK on the ‘Netstar/NOL’ icon.

·        Left click on ‘Create Shortcut’

·        Click on the YES box that comes up.

·        RIGHT CLICK on ‘Netstar’ again

·        This time left click on ‘Properties’

·        Uncheck the “Use Area code and Dialing Properties” box

·        Click on the ‘Server Types’ Tab next to the ‘General’ Tab.

·        The only boxes that you need checked in the boxes are

1.     ENABLE SOFTWARE COMPRESSION

2.     TCP/IP

·        Any other boxes that are checked, please UNCHECK.

·        Click on ‘OK’
